1. What is a Speed Limiter Device (SLD)?
A Speed Limiter Device (SLD) is an electronic system that limits the maximum speed of a commercial vehicle. In Malaysia, JPJ requires certain commercial vehicles to comply with the Speed Limiter Device (SLD) regulations to improve road safety.

2. Which lorries require an SLD in Malaysia?
Commercial vehicles that fall under JPJ's Speed Limiter Device (SLD) requirements must have a compliant SLD installed according to the implementation schedule announced by JPJ.

3. When is the JPJ SLD implementation date?
JPJ has announced the following implementation phases:

Phase 1: From 1 October 2025 – Commercial vehicles manufactured after January 2015 with ECU.

Phase 2: From 1 January 2026 – Commercial vehicles manufactured before January 2015 with ECU.

Phase 3: From 1 July 2026 – Commercial vehicles manufactured before January 2015 without ECU (Mechanical Pump).
Vehicle owners should check the latest JPJ announcements, as implementation schedules may change.

4. What is the maximum speed set by the SLD?
For applicable commercial vehicles, the Speed Limiter Device limits the vehicle to 90 km/h, in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements.

5. How much does SLD installation cost?
Our current installation charges are:

Isuzu lorry (2016 onwards, with ECU): RM174.20 (inclusive of SST)

Isuzu lorry (before 2016, without ECU): RM2,950 (inclusive of SST)

6. How long does SLD installation take?
Most SLD installations are completed within 1–3 hours, depending on the vehicle model and condition.

7. Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes. We recommend making an appointment in advance to minimise waiting time.

8. How do I know if my Isuzu lorry has an ECU?
Generally:

Most 2016 onwards Isuzu commercial vehicles are equipped with an ECU.

Older models may use a mechanical fuel pump and require SLD installation at the fuel pump.
